On one Sunday, caterpillar
went down a few steps to a cellar.
Since she had so many legs,
it was hard to get to kegs.
(She kept there delicious milk,
sweet and smooth, almost like silk).
Filled two bottles and went back up,
after one step she got stuck.
Steps were quite high and milk rather heavy,
despite all the legs – she wasn’t steady.
After a moment started to teeter,
with one leg tried to hold on to gas meter.
That did not help, however, at all,
by no means she could prevent a fall.
She flapped her arms, bent backwards and tumbled,
spilling all milk around where she landed.
Stood up in a second, licked milky finger,
then certain thought has made her to linger.
“What is the point…” – she said aloud –
“… of having all of the legs’ crowd?
I’d rather have less and be much more stable,
and climb cellar stairs well, to be able!
I guess there is not much I can do,
just good climbing skills need to pursue!”.
She practised each day to be really good,
she got a call from Hollywood.
Became a famous stunt-caterpillar,
there was in movies no one similar.
It pays to train to do what’s not easy,
excuses aside – even if you’re busy!
