"Chatty pigeon"

In a sunny, lovely region,

had his house a curious pigeon.

Interested in every matter,

bored everyone with his chatter.

He could talk and talk forever,

thinking he was very clever.

Bumped one day into a crow,

who he didn’t even know.

Started tedious talk, quite formal,

(the crow thought - he can't be normal).

Pigeon then drew a map of Chad,

(the poor craw thought – he must be mad).

Then – guess what – he sang a song,

that was so extremely long,

that crow fell asleep quite soon,

tired of the boring tune.

Pigeon stopped and poked the crow,

“I have much more to bestow”.

Crow said: “Pal, please go away,

waste somebody else’s day”.

That left pigeon really shocked,

his proud, birdy jaw has dropped.

“Lear to listen and be quiet,

no one cares about your diet,

or your songs or maps or jokes,

leave alone me and folks.

Do something important, dude,

don’t impose and don’t be rude,

find a purpose in your life,

perhaps one day you’ll find a wife.

Look around, listen, observe,

learn what all others indeed deserve.

Give what they need, forget your pride,

so no one will ever rush fast to hide,

when seeing you on the horizon,

approaching slowly but surely, like bison”.

Pigeon considered advice at once,

gave the wise crow a very quick glance,

and said: “thank you, crow, I do get it,

I needed a lesson and now I’ve learned it”.

He did become a very good bird,

respected, known, and world widely heard.
