As you, kids, know, all sheep are white,
to them - the same look, is quite all right.
There was one, though, far, far away,
that was bright ginger (- not due to dye spray).
Her name was Geri, she was a loner,
a cosy, elegant, little hut’s owner.
She didn’t hang out with other animals,
she had no neighbours and only two pals.
(They were red squirrels - sister and brother,
who lived up the hill with also red mother).
Geri decided she doesn’t belong,
amongst other sheep she’d look just wrong.
But guess what happened, one summer day?
Dozen sheep came with a basket of hay.
They knocked to the door (and Geri attended),
then said: “If you accept it, it would be splendid”.
Geri replied: “Of course, please, come in,
I’ll bring some cake, fresh from a tin”.
When she returned and all sat together,
one sheep said: “we all wonder whether -
there is a chance to borrow your kit,
because your ginger wool is a hit”.
Geri almost choked on the cake,
“Did you really think my colour was fake?
If I could do something, I’d be white,
and with other sheep at last feel right”.
Other sheep said: “We envy your look,
a day at hairdresser’s we are gonna book”.
Geri couldn’t believe her ears,
and in her eyes had couple of tears.
They all became the best girlfriends ever,
you won’t find any creatures that are any redder.
