"The parrot and the rabbit" (a poem for PM)

Updated: Mar 30, 2019

There was a parrot

who really liked carrot.

Her acquaintance – yellow rabbit,

had a rather handy habit.

Used to visit man with stables,

(who grew lovely vegetables).

Well…he never met the farmer,

a popular ladies’ charmer.

Rabbit would just pop in to his yard,

during absence of the guard,

(The guard was a huge and noisy dog,

whose curious name was Phileas Fogg).

He would check out his garden patches,

collect fresh veggies, at least few batches.

Obviously carrot was his number one,

he wouldn’t leave until he was done.

Since parrot was a colleague of his,

on top of that – quite lovely young miss,

he always gave her half of the carrots,

and she preferred him than other parrots.

Let me make clear that stealing is bad,

but he adored her, what else can I add.

They both liked the carrot like no one else,

We have to excuse them – there’s no pretence.
